The Pythons’ Pit is a competition that provides an opportunity for creative, entrepreneurial students in the Halton Region to present their business concepts and product ideas, in hopes of winning a grand prize.
Jennifer Palfi, grade 10 student at Bishop P.F. Reding Catholic Secondary School amazed the judges and audience with her idea of Smart Tasks; an online database that allows users to outsource small tasks or jobs. Approved users in the area can respond and complete the task to get paid.
Mark Suan, grade 12 student at Corpus Christi Catholic Secondary School came up with the brilliant idea of Cyclo-Charger, a portable cell phone charger, which harnesses and converts the kinetic energy produced from cycling into electrical energy to charge a cellphone. As a result, Mark defeated the Pythons and came out as a winner in the high school competition category.
Congratulations on a job well done to our Halton Catholic students; Jennifer Palfi and Mark Suan!
