Pythons’ Pit is back for its third season and competition is heating up. From the 59 entries received across Halton Region the top contenders have been selected by the screening committee at Haltech. This Halton Rotary project is a Dragons’ Den type of contest that has contestants pitching to a panel of business moguls and potential investors. Between now and March 3rd the contenders will attend Pitch Preparation camps facilitated by MaRs and have the opportunity to meet with volunteer mentors through the ConnectUs Canada Network. Beginning March 3rd these candidates will be screened again by a select panel to determine the Top 5 that will pitch to the Pythons at TV Cogeco studios. The LIVE show will be held at Burlington Performing Arts Centre on Mon May 4th at 7:30pm where the $20,000 winner will be announced. Pythons’ Pit will air on TV Cogeco in the fall as a miniseries.
The Top contenders in the OPEN category in no particular order are:
• BukitLife – Joe Murphy, Doug Murphy, Eric Duffus
BuckitLife is a sales & marketing company that bridges the gap between consumers and suppliers, by creating an online hub for any service that could be on someone’s bucket list. It is a web based marketing/sales solution aimed towards the tourism industry.
Doug is a 25 year old graduate of the University of Western Ontario and has spent the last 2 years as an investment analyst on Bay Street. Eric is a 25 year old graduate of the University of Guelph and has spent the last 2 years as a business development specialist in the automotive and robotics industries. Joe is a 26 year old graduate of Brock University and has spent the last 4 years running and consulting for small and medium sized businesses.
• Naturally Dapper – Jordan Wickett

I’m passionate about making great personal care products which are eco-friendly and create positive changes in people’s lives.”
• Aero Rig Solutions – Malcolm Freeman
AeroRig Solutions provides aerodynamic components to the Logistics Industry to help our customers save money on their fuel expenditures. Aerodynamic add ons for tractor trailers to increase fuel efficiency. ” I am a team player with a passion about aerodynamics. I am bridging the gap from political discussions focused on green technology and commercializing products that are saving customers money.”
• Aorte Fitness Gear – Robert Omer Carriere
Unique fitness gear tailored to upper body performance. Aorte Fitness Gear is currently launching a fitness/restoration pack (the Velocity Vest) that will redefine exercise and health with its innovative motion resistance technology.
Robert Carriere is a Philosopher and Artist from the University of Toronto and the Sheridan Institute of Technology. “I have realized in my 27 years that a healthy mind requires our body to be in perfect balance, and thus the Velocity Vest was born.”

Wojtek is a seasoned entrepreneur, launching two companies in digital media and music delivery. His passion is building businesses and delivering cutting edge relevant content. Anh is a developer who has built a digital media company and serviced many different clients over the last seven years of business.
• Nautical Cleaners – Scott Brittain
Nautical Cleaners is a yacht detailing business, currently servicing the GTA region and has the opportunity to become the first ever North America-wide yacht detailing franchise. “I am constantly trying to improve and I’m a firm believer that life is a journey; you have to work hard, learn from your mistakes, and enjoy the ride. I have dedicated myself to getting the most out of every situation, in my personal and professional life. I was involved in many team sports growing up, captaining both the Canadian and Boston University basketball teams before pursuing my MBA. I started Nautical Cleaners through the Halton Summer Company program, and even won an award in grade 10 from Halton for my entrepreneurial idea of Keylites “

Cory Hudson is a 5th year Biology student at the Wilfrid Laurier University and the founder of Ambient Audio Canada. “I have firsthand experience of the ability for music to guide us through the toughest, and greatest moments in our lives, and Ambient Audio is devoted to help people create a deeper connection with their music.”
• Grad Potential – Kyle Bissett

Kyle is a recent graduate from the University of Guelph who saw the need to assist graduating university students. “I am determined to accomplish my goals, love a challenge, and have a passion for working with people.” When not working he enjoys outdoor activities such as cycling and skiing.
• Easy Peasy Baby Company (EPBC) – Nicole Mortimer
EPBCis a new online-based business providing high-quality, comfortable, attractive and parent-friendly baby clothing and accessories. The key products include Zippeez and ClipOn Costumes.
The company owner, Nicole Mortimer, has more than 10 years of public relations and marketing experience. She is an avid and accomplished seamstress having created evening gowns, street clothing, event dresses, wedding dresses and home décor. Her husband, Gavin Mortimer, acting in an advisory role, has more than 20 years in channel marketing, advertising, channel marketing, direct sales and executive management.
High School Division
The High School division has blown audiences away every year with the presentation calibre and determination of the students. This year is shaping up to be the same with a strong list of contenders. The High School students are vying for a cash pool of $5,000 and will also receive the same pitch preparation and mentoring sessions. The Top High School contenders will be screened down to the Top 5 by the first week of March and the Top 5 will pitch to the Pythons in TV Cogeco studios as well as to the live audience on Mon May 4th at 7:30pm at Burlington Performing Arts Centre.
