Connie Smith – MC
A trail-blazer in the industry, Connie was the first woman to join the weekday news anchor desk at CHCH-TV Hamilton, where she became a household name and face for 32 years. In 2009 she and her husband, producer/director Dave Wilson, launched “Always Good News”, Canada’s first and only good news show, which aired on CTS Television (now YES TV). Her interviews over the years include prime ministers, premiers, philanthropists such as Ron Joyce, co-founder of Tim Hortons, funnyman Jim Carrey, Margaret Trudeau, Sarah Palin and Olivia Newton-John.
Frank McKeown – Moderator
Frank McKeown is currently the Executive Director of the Burlington Economic Development Corporation (BEDC). He is an experienced business executive, having held several CEO and COO roles and leading companies through their restructuring, investment and public offering processes. Frank was also Chief of Staff for the mayor of Burlington for two years following Mayor Goldring’s election in 2010.
He began his career in corporate finance and strategic planning with a large public company and later served as President of McIntyre & Dodd Marketing, one of Canada’s leading marketing and promotion companies. In 1999, Frank founded KnowledgePark Technologies, which provided software applications to Canada’s leading financial institutions. After the successful sale of this business, Frank joined a Burlington based finance firm and established a technology financing operation. He currently mentors for Haltech and consults with technology companies.
Frank sits on the Board of Directors at FreshInsights Consulting, contributing his expertise in strategic planning and sales and marketing strategies. As a mentor, Frank offers his speciality in sales and marketing to a diverse range of clients.
