Mentor Application Form 2018

Welcome to the Python’s Pit Mentor Application 2017-18.

Based on best practices learned over the past years, there will be two mentorship options to choose from this year. Within this application, you will be asked to identify which option you are best suited and available for. Please read each section carefully to determine your best fit.

Please note that all mentors must reside in the Halton Region.

1. KEY MENTOR

1. Key Mentor – will be partnered with one high school applicant to whom you will devote your entire mentoring efforts

Responsibilities:

• largest responsibility and time commitment
• involvement right from the beginning of the process in January to the taping of the live show at the end of May, 2018
• participation in shortlisting the applications
• regular one on one mentorship with partner applicant
• weekly touch points/meetings from January to May
• participation in applicant prep meetings at TechPlace in Burlington
• participation at studio and live tapings if necessary
• other duties as determined

To apply for the position of Key Mentor, you must commit your availability for all of the dates listed below. Please review and indicate your acceptance by checking the box below the list of dates. The majority of events will be held at TechPlace at Burloak and the QEW from 5-9pm.

• Wednesday, February 28, 2018 – Pitch Practice Session #1
• Wednesday, March 21, 2018 – Pitch Practice Session #2
• Tuesday, May 22, 2018 – Live Event – Burlington Performing Arts Centre

2. PITCH MENTOR

2. Pitch Mentor – once applicants have finalized their pitch, act as an audience for practice purposes as well as providing constructive feedback

Responsibilities:

• attend pitch practice sessions in February and March where applicants will present to you as an audience
• ask questions and provide constructive feedback to each applicant
• other duties as determined
